We had a great first meeting! It was a little long because we had so much to cover, after being apart for the summer. A few notes:
- Kirsten is investigating T-shirts. Michele is reaching out to Spectrum.
- Our primary meeting activity will be discussing the Phoenix Affirmations. I don’t expect everyone to 100% agree with everything they say. In fact, the nature of progressive Christianity is that we avoid orthodoxy. But I do think that they are good discussion points.
- I mentioned a book that we could study, probably not this semester but in the future. The Shack has been made into a movie. I have been watching a series by the author on Amazon Prime called Restoring the Shack. There is also a deeper theological study out there that I have not yet read, The Shack Revisited.
- I received an email this week pointing to a list of ways to be an ally. Good reading.
