and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?
If we are to love our neighbor, we must “do justice.” What does that mean? We will be discussing justice and injustice in modern American society. The criminal justice system is set up to disadvantage the poor. Poor people are also more likely to be crime victims. The news is filled with stories of police violence against African-Americans. And of course, our LGBTQ neighbors are still yearning for equitable treatment.
