Holy Basil (The Divine Goddess) is revered in India as a sacred plant, planted everywhere around Hindu temples. In Hindu religion it is known as one of the most important plants in Ayurvedic medicine. Various studies suggest that holy basil might have some effects as a painkiller, a COX-II anti-inflammatory agent, an antioxidant, and as a treatment for bacterial, fungal, viral infections and of course, stress.
Shatavari is used to balance the female hormonal system, nourishing and cleansing the blood and the female reproductive organs. Shatavari contains phyto-estrogens, the precursors of estrogen and is very useful for womxn who suffer from low natural estrogen.
Strawberry leaf, with its mild, fruity flavor, has the highest level of Vitamin C. Traditionally used for aches and pains, it is especially useful for children, nursing & pregnant women. Recognized as a blood purifier, it is used for treating night sweats, to stimulate digestion, in anemia, as a tonic, to reduce profuse menstruation and, finally, to support natural loss of weight.
Brahmi (Centella asiatica or Gotu Kola) is named after one of the highest states of consciousness (Brahman or God consciousness), and is one of the most powerful brain tonics in the Ayurvedic apothecary. It is known as a powerful brain tonic and may actually work on the brain through its effect on the gut microbiology. Recent studies suggest that Brahmi supports healthy skin, lymph, and circulatory functions.
Ladie's Mantle, with the generic name Alchemilla is derived from the Arabic word, Alkemelych (alchemy), and was bestowed on it, according to some old writers, because of the wonder-working powers of the plant. These early chemist and magicians believed that dewdrops which gathered on the leaves of the lady's mantle had some magical powers that could really help them in their ultimate quest for the philosopher's stone - a mythical magical stone, believed to be capable of turning base metals like lead to precious gold. In herbal medicine, women who suffer from problems of heavy menstrual bleeding, menstrual cramps, menopause symptoms can benefit from it's use, leading to a great improvement in the regularity of the menstrual cycle. The herbal remedy made from the lady's mantle is also often prescribed for the treatment of conditions like fibroids and endometriosis in women.
